McGrady, Pistons agree to one-year deal

The Detroit Pistons have some work to do with their roster after
agreeing to terms Tuesday morning with free agent forward Tracy McGrady
on a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum of $1.35 million.

A league source indicated Tuesday that the Pistons will work to "un-jam
the log jam" the team now has at the shooting guard and small forward
spots after signing the 31-year-old McGrady, who has been working out
for several teams this summer looking for a home, including Chicago and
Cleveland.

Acie Law Agrees to Deal With Memphis

Sources close to the situation are telling HOOPSWORLD that guard Acie
Law has agreed to a one-year deal to join the Memphis Grizzlies.

Brown update: Deal could come by end of the week

Shannon Brown could be signed by the end of this week.

But with who? Brown’s agent, Mark Bartelstein wouldn’t get into details
Monday, only to say that he and Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak continue to
talk.

“We’re working on it. It’s a work in progress,” Bartelstein said.

Celtics will host Heat, LeBron on Opening Night

Miami’s new Big Three will be making their regular-season debut against the Celtics’ Big Three at TD Garden.

According to a league sources, the revamped Heat, featuring the daunting
trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, will open the NBA
season against the Celtics Oct. 26, a clash that will be nationally
televised by TNT.

The league will release its opening week and Christmas Day schedules
tonight on NBA TV, and it’s expected that the Heat and Celtics will be
prevalent in those games.

Greg Kelser: Joe Dumars working on Pistons' front line

Greg Kelser said he believes Pistons president of basketball operations
Joe Dumars and his staff are plotting a way to make the team’s front
line better before training camp starts.

Kelser spoke while spending part of Monday morning at Detroit
Communication & Media Arts High School for a building makeover
celebration.
