Robinson is averaging 4.8 points and 4.7 rebounds in 15.9 minutes. He spent three years at Kansas, where he averaged 18.7 points and 9.8 rebounds. Robinson was suspended for two games in November when he threw an elbow to the neck of Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko.

The Los Angeles Times reported today that NBA officials say they expect the Kings to remain in Sacramento next year.

Team co-owner Gavin Maloof immediately disagreed, saying he and his brothers haven’t made up their minds yet.
"That is not what we are saying," Maloof told The Bee. "We haven’t said what we are going to say. We’ll let you know when we know."

This afternoon, the Kings issued the following statement regarding relocation to Anaheim: "We await the results of the fact-finding visit that the NBA made to Sacramento the past two days. We have not made a decision with regards to relocation filing, and will not make that decision until we have more information from the NBA."

In an afternoon news conference, Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson said he’s heard nothing definitive about the Kings staying in Sacramento for another year.

The Kings remain in a challenging position, as their focus is acquiring a big man the likes of whom may not exist.

The most talented of those potentially available – players like
Phoenix’s Amar’e Stoudemire, Bosh, and Utah’s Carlos Boozer – are
simply too risky because they have expiring contracts and may not
re-sign this summer. Meanwhile, there is the alternative of pursuing
big men of less impact such as Dalembert, whose contracts would
severely limit the financial flexibility in the near future. Though the
Kings’ financial outlook isn’t as dire as it was at this point last
season, they still need to spend responsibly.

"I think if we’re going to trade for another player and take on significant money, you’d have to feel like you’re getting some real bang for your dollar," Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie said late last week.

There are potential targets for the Kings who would come with less risk: Golden State’s Andris Biedrins (four seasons and a combined $36 million remaining) and Washington’s Brendan Haywood (expiring contract worth $6 million this season).

Haywood is the sort of defensive-minded presence they covet, but he’s also a hot commodity at the moment.

Charlotte – which sources say would be very motivated by any trade involving Kings second-year forward Jason Thompson – has a logjam of centers whom the Kings may inquire about: Nazr Mohammed (6-foot-10), DeSagana Diop (7-0), Alexis Ajinca (7-0) and oft-injured Tyson Chandler (7-1). The Bobcats may also have interest in the expiring contract of Kenny Thomas ($8.7 million this season), as he has been highly regarded by Charlotte coach Larry Brown since they were together in Philadelphia.

out in the very near future.

It is noted that he is happy to be in Sacramento however it is reported that” has
had recent discussions with the Kings regarding a possible buyout of the
remaining portion of his expiring contract ($7.1 million this season).”

It is also noted that it is unlikely that the buyout will
happen before the deadline so as a result it is unlikely that he will be able

team players. It is reported that Kings President Geoff Petrie has all but
written off this season and is “very, very open to deals.”
