Kings trade Thomas Robinson to Rockets in multi-player deal

The Kings have traded forwards Thomas Robinson, Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt and a second-round pick to the Rockets for center Cole Aldrich, guard Toney Douglas, forward Patrick Patterson and $1 million, according to reports from Yahoo! Sports, USA Today Sports and NBA.com. The three-team deal also involved the Rockets sending forward Marcus Morris to the Suns for a 2013 second-round pick, according to NBA.com. The Rockets and Suns were able to absorb more salary than they sent out without matching because both teams are under the salary cap.

Hayes reiterates desire to stay

Free agency looms

"I want to be here,"
Hayes said. "This is home for me. This has been home for me for six
years. Houston is all I know. Houston is all I want to know."

Though the Rockets
have made no secret about their desire to find a center taller than
their shooting guard, Hayes has made a strong case for a place in the
mix.

His averages of 7.9
points, 2.7 assists and eight rebounds per game are career bests. His
defensive work has been sensational, frustrating stars young and old,
from Blake Griffin to Tim Duncan. He inspired coach Rick Adelman to
campaign for him to be on the All-Defense team.

Yao mulls contract status

JONATHAN
FEIGEN

Though it has long been assumed Rockets center Yao Ming’s foot injury
and extensive surgery would prevent him from opting out of his contract
after this season, Yao said Saturday he was “not sure” if the
uncertainty with the NBA’s labor negotiations would lead him to become a
free agent this summer.

T-Mac sits until he can be worked in

With Tracy McGrady dissatisfied with his limited playing time, the Rockets came up with a solution he never saw coming.

Instead of increasing his playing time as McGrady had wanted, they chose not to play him at all.

“I said all along I want to see where he fits,” coach Rick Adelman said
Saturday. “Coming back from an injury like that (microfracture knee
surgery), it’s obvious he’s not the Tracy we knew two years ago. He
knows that. What I’m trying to figure out is where we can best get him
in the rotation where he can have a positive effect on the team.

McGrady chomping to play … for someone

Tracy McGrady’s $23 million salary makes him difficult to trade – but
not impossible. While McGrady is playing a limited role for the Rockets
since returning from knee surgery, he is confident that if he’s traded
his new team won’t be disappointed.

T-Mac returns, but for who? For what?

Ken Berger

Tracy McGrady returned to the Houston Rockets Tuesday night, and the
fans cheered. T-Mac hit a 3-pointer, his only points during an
eight-minute stint, and all was right in Rocket Land again. Right?

No, not so much.

McGrady has fans back on his side

BY JEROME SOLOMON

Many times since his season came to an end last February because of a
knee injury, the image of Tracy McGrady drew a strong reaction at
Toyota Center.

Rockets continue to offer Tracy McGrady

Adrian Wojnarowski

Houston: The Rockets continue to offer Tracy McGrady(notes) in a trade,
but that will be a difficult proposition considering he’s the
highest-paid player in the league ($23.2 million) and no one has seen
him play in nine months. Houston seems willing to take back a
longer-term contract for McGrady, but most executives believe his high
salary makes it hard to put together a package.

'Good shot' Rockets could trade guard Barry

JONATHAN FEIGEN

The Rockets have been in talks with several teams about moving veteran
guard Brent Barry, according to several individuals with knowledge of
the discussions.

The most serious talks have been with the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Wafer wants to remain a Rocket

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Von Wafer is set to become a free agent again but hopes and wants to stay with the Rockets.
