Ken BergerThe first name that came to mind after the Clippers' rude and unceremonious news release came out Tuesday night announcing Mike Dunleavy's firing was none other than Jerry West. The Logo had been long rumored to be a candidate to take over the Clippers' woebegone basketball operations if -- and, as it turned out, when -- they finally "severed ties" with Dunleavy. From West himself Tuesday night: Not gonna happen. ![]() What to do with Marcus Camby? The Clippers have maintained internally that Camby's $9,150,000 million expiring contract is the most attractive expiring contract in the league because the 35-year-old is still so effective and because so many contending teams -- such as Dallas, San Antonio, Denver and Portland -- have either chased him hard in the past or want another big man for the postseason. ![]() Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy declined to confirm Saturday a recent report that said various NBA teams have made trade offers for starting forward Marcus Camby. ![]() Ramona Shelburne The Clippers rumored interest in Milwaukee restricted free agent Ramon Sessions is real. The urgency of signing the former D-Leaguer has dimmed a bit after last weeks' trade for Sebastian Telfair. The New York Post is reporting that the Clippers have talked
to Isiah Thomas about a job in their organization. It is also noted that Thomas
will be in LA a lot next season because his daughter will be going to
university in that city.
Today the LA Clippers have waived goodbye to Jason Hart. Hart has only played in 28 games so far this season and it is noted that he was only obtained last July. |
