Heat want to resign Dwayne Wade through 2014-2015

The Miami Herald is reporting that the Heat’s top priority this summer is to sign Dwayne Wade to a new contract in order to keep their star player in Miami through “the 2014-15 season.”
It is reported that ” Wade, the NBA’s scoring champion who finished third in MVP voting, has one guaranteed season remaining on his contract and could opt out of his deal next summer, when several other superstars could be free agents.

But Riley said Wednesday he would like to lock up Wade well before he can hit the open market in what could be the NBA’s biggest free-agency frenzy ever.

Also, Wade is coming off the best statistical season of his six-year career. He led the league in scoring at 30.2 points, played a career-high 79 games, and was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive second team on Wednesday.”
