Hornets acquire guard Jerryd Bayless in trade with the Portland Trail Blazers

The New Orleans Hornets have acquired guard Jerryd Bayless from the
Portland Trail Blazers in a trade exchange for a future first-round
pick, league sources confirmed Saturday night.Bayless solidifies the
Hornets’ backup point guard spot before the regular season. The Hornets’
roster now stands at 16 and they have until Tuesday to meet the
league-maximum requirement 15 players. New Orleans opens the regular
season Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks at the New Orleans

Bayless, 6 feet 3, 200 pounds, averaged 8.5 points and 2.3 assists in 74 games last season for the Trail Blazers.

Bayless was one of the young players that Hornets Coach Monty Williams worked with for the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Trail Blazers.
