James won't attend Yankees parade
If the Yankees stage their world championship parade Friday, a Cavaliers spokesman said noted Bronx Bombers fan LeBron James is not expected to attend the festivities, even though he will be in town to face the Knicks that night. There is a chance, however, the Yankees will come to James. Plans were being made to invite a handful of Yankees to the Garden night for the Knicks game vs. the Cavaliers if they are the world champions.
CC Sabathia, the former Indians pitcher who is a friend of James, has a pair of Knicks season tickets.
James, who grew up in Akron, ticked off the Cleveland faithful two years ago when he showed up to the Indians-Yankees playoff series wearing a Yankees cap.
The Knicks have been swamped by celebrity requests and it’s expected Jay-Z, a minority Nets owner and close friend of James’, will be at the Garden.
