Lee needs Portland interest
We had heard so much about how David Lee David Lee was coveted around the NBA, specifically Portland. He was so prized the U.S. Olympic Committee invited him later this month for their summer workouts in Vegas.
Now after Hedo Turkoglu’s stunning rejection, the Blazers have $9 million of cap space – enough to make Lee an offer that the Knicks New York Knicks probably won’t match.
Things had been going swimmingly for the Knicks on the Lee front until last night. Memphis, Detroit and Portland all appeared to have made moves to negate their interest in Lee.

Agent Mark Bartlestein says their initital concern was the Knicks would match an offer. The Blazers can avoid that by doing a sign-and-trade. Let’s see how badly Portland really liked Lee?
