Nets looking at Stoudemire?
Kiki Vandeweghe couldn’t speak specifically about Amar’e Stoudemire but
was presented with the scenario of trading for an established player
rather than weight for free agency and reiterated the Nets would do
“If you’re saying, ‘Can you shortcut the process and get a super player
in a trade?’ I think you would always try to do that,” Vandeweghe said.
“You have to weigh that against all your options. But you’ve got to be
open to everything. You can’t close your mind to any option at all.”
The Nets have talked to Suns and probably would like to continue talks. (Many teams would a shot at Stoudemire).
Getting Stoudemire would definitely shortcut their rebuild and improve their chances of getting another talented guy this summer.
Vandeweghe gave the players the day off yesterday to rest their bodies, but more importantly clear their minds and come back and be positive. But he was happy to report seven guys came in yesterday to shoot.
One of them was Chris Douglas-Roberts who said he came in Sunday after the Nets landed from the Utah game and got a work out in with his personal basketball trainer Jerry Powell.
