Nets sought Nate Robinson

Looking to add a spark, the Nets tried to acquire energetic Nate Robinson from the Knicks, league sources said.

The Nets proposed a Rafer Alston and Tony Battie for Robinson and Darko Milicic swap. Neither player was playing for the Knicks, and the Nets hoped Robinson would provide energy and life to a team that needed both.

All four players are on expiring contracts so it would have fit both teams’ wants to not hurt their salary-cap figure and flexibility for the summer. But the Knicks weren’t interested.

LeBron mum

LeBron James won’t only avoid questions about his future. He wants no part in commenting on the report that Wizards guards Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton pulled guns on each other in the locker room last month.

"I really can’t because I wasn’t there and I don’t have enough information," James said. "It’s a very serious matter, so I don’t even want to make a comment about it."
