Regardless, the Nuggets, who had previously been looking for a big man, will spend this weekend discussing what they might do. Bret Adams, an attorney representing the Nuggets' coach, met with officials from Kroenke Sports Enterprises and afterward said: "It's a complicated discussion and process because of the potential lockout (after 2010-11). It's a different economic environment. All of that has added a complexity to contract negotiations that simply hasn't been there before. ![]() "We definitely could use somebody else," said forward Carmelo Anthony, who scored a game-high 41 points. "At this point, anytime you have an injured player, anybody who can step up off the bench is huge." The Nuggets' front office is looking into acquiring a big man who could play some minutes off the bench. But right now, the Nuggets just aren't the same without all five starters. InDenver.com is reporting that Linas Kleiza is considering
taking a one year contract with the Nuggets next season so that he will become
an unrestricted free agent the year after.

The Rocky Mountain Times is reporting that the Nuggets should be looking at a number of players prior to the upcoming trade deadline. ![]() Nuggets guard Earl Boykins will be out approx. 4-5 weeks with two fractures in his left hand the team announced today. Boykins will not require surgery but his hand will be in a hard cast for the time being. Julius Hodge was called up from the NBDL to replace his spot in the lineup. The Denver Nuggets named George Karl the 19th head coach in team history Thursday. Karl will take over for interim head coach Michael Cooper and is expected to lead the team during a practice in Milwaukee, where the Nuggets will face the Bucks on Friday night. |
