Rasheed Wallace – Pay up or I'm retiring

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Rasheed Wallace wants 8 million to play next season or else he is going to retire.

Although it is not on an official website it is noted that “A phone call to Wallace’s Washington-based agent, Bill Duffy, wasn’t returned, but if the report is true, that’s probably it for Wallace’s 14-year career. In this economic climate, it’s hard to see a franchise paying $8 million for a player who appears to be on the decline. It’s unlikely he’ll return to the Pistons.
The Free Press reported last week that Wallace, who made more than $13 million this season, might retire if he decides that a much lesser amount is not worth his time. There were rumblings last summer that 2008-09 could be his last season.”
