Instead of increasing his playing time as McGrady had wanted, they chose not to play him at all. “I said all along I want to see where he fits,” coach Rick Adelman said Saturday. “Coming back from an injury like that (microfracture knee surgery), it’s obvious he’s not the Tracy we knew two years ago. T-Mac hit a 3-pointer, his only points during an eight-minute stint, and all was right in Rocket Land again. Right? No, not so much. ![]() BY JEROME SOLOMON Many times since his season came to an end last February because of a knee injury, the image of Tracy McGrady drew a strong reaction at Toyota Center. ![]() Adrian Wojnarowski Houston: The Rockets continue to offer Tracy McGrady(notes) in a trade, but that will be a difficult proposition considering he’s the highest-paid player in the league ($23.2 million) and no one has seen him play in nine months. Houston seems willing to take back a longer-term contract for McGrady, but most executives believe his high salary makes it hard to put together a package. JONATHAN FEIGENThe Rockets have been in talks with several teams about moving veteran guard Brent Barry, according to several individuals with knowledge of the discussions. The most serious talks have been with the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Von Wafer is set to become a free agent again but hopes and wants to stay with the Rockets.
