Tracy McGrady Trade Rumors

NBA to end lockout; games would start Christmas Day

Early this morning, NBA fans received their first Christmas gift: a tentative agreement to end the 149-day lockout.

One final, 15-hour marathon negotiating session brought together the final elements of a new collective bargaining agreement that fans have been yearning for since owners locked out the players July 1.

The deal will allow the league to begin its season on Christmas Day, with the season's first tipoff to take place at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks will play the Celtics at noon.

Mason says Knicks owner wants NBA to play
KnicksKnicks guard Roger Mason knows at least one owner who wished the NBA lockout ended with a labor agreement Thursday night: James Dolan.

Mason, vice president of the Players Association, has rubbed shoulders with the Knicks owner countless times this summer and fall in Manhattan hotel board rooms instead of the team's plush practice facility.

Why the Iguodala-for-Ellis Deal Has To Happen
RumorsSomething has to give.

Despite his exceptional defense, freakish athleticism and jaw-dropping play-making ability, the writing on the wall is simply too large to ignore at this point.

His seven years of service should be greatly appreciated by 76ers fans, but the fact remains that Andre Iguodala can not—and should not—be a member of the Philadelphia 76ers next season.

He clearly doesn't want to be in Philadelphia any longer. Iguodala's quasi-excused absence from his postseason exit interview spoke volumes, even more so than his non-committal answers during his season-ending session with the media.

Are Pistons interested in trading for Hawks' Josh Smith or Clippers' C
Rumors

The buzz Tuesday was that the Pistons could be interested in Hawks forward Josh Smith.

The thinking is since the Hawks just signed Joe Johnson (six years, $124 million) and Al Horford (five years, $60 million) to new deals, they won't be able to afford to keep the remaining three years and $37 million left on Smith's deal.
